Tanya Veit

When I saw Tanya Veit featured in Glass Patterns Quarterly last year, I grabbed the phone to call her and see how soon she could come to Houston to teach.  Finally, the time has come.  Tanya will be here in mid April 2011 to teach her new class, Extreme Fused Glass Jewelry...Breaking All The Rules!

You may not recognize her name but Tanya has been quietly creating tiny works of fabulous art in her studio in Cape Coral, Florida.  Instead of focusing on the dichroic, she focuses on the art and dichroic takes a back seat to the other techniques.  While other online cabs sell for as little as $2-3, Tanya's been selling her pendants for $30-55 each and they keep selling out!

Tanya's techniques and secrets will be revealed in this workshop!  You will leave with 6-9 pieces of jewelry and enough knowledge of techniques to excel in your own business. Cutting skills are required.  Stained Glass artists are welcome!

This is an intense 2-day workshop with the most advanced fusing techniques to turn your jewelry into gallery-quality pieces.

In  this class, you'll learn:

  • EXTREME layering and shading
  • Creating landscapes
  • Intricate etching techniques
  • Coldworking: shaping, drilling, grinding and cutting glass to create beautiful works of art!
  • Using silver settings in your pieces
  • Decaling to the max
  • Creating frit blends
  • Design and color theory using all techniques!
  • Each student will leave with 6-9 projects
