Fused Glass for Walls
Do you love art glass? Does it seem like the only place you can hang it is in a window? That is no longer the case, because now you can hang your glass creations on your walls. The wall hangings in this book are all created using various components that are just plain fun to make, yet the final result is a beautiful piece of art for your walls.
These designs are relatively small-approximately 6" square. I kept the designs quite small for a couple of reasons. First, and foremost, is the size of your kiln. A kiln can be expensive and unless you are using it to make a living, you probably own a smaller model. The second reason is that if you make a smaller piece, you will no doubt be able to find somewhere to hang it.
The designs in this book were created so that you can hang your piece in a small space or as a set of three, horizontally or vertically. When hung as a set, the entire project will create a nice size piece for your wall- approximately 6"x 20".
If you have a larger wall that you want to decorate, make 6, 9, or 12 pieces and just incorporate the same or similar colors. And of course, it is easy to size them up or down. Have some fun with them. Why not make a set of miniatures for your kitchen cupboard backsplash? Not sure how they will look on a wall or in a particular space? Cut the sizes out of cardboard or construction paper and gently tape them to the wall, stand back, and have a look!
All wall pieces are mounted to the wall using Stand-Offs by Hang Your Glass. One set features Nesting Stand-Offs which gives the piece great depth and an added dimension. When you look around your home, I am sure you will find a wall that could use some glass on it! Let's start cookin' some Fused Glass for Walls!
