Linda's Description  of the Class:

Facing Out / Looking In: Glass in the 4th Dimension

Hidden rooms, secret places, glimpses of inner worlds.  In this class, we explore the mysteries of the inner landscape.  Working with the unique transparency of glass, learn to create sculpture that integrates the exterior form of sculpture with the traditionally hidden inner space to create a narrative universe.  Through a variety of exercises, participants will develop a visual library of images and symbols that tell a story, their story, real or not, abstract, poetic, or representational.  Using this story as a starting point, students will work in clay to create the model for a monolithic sculpture that when cast in glass will function as both the outer surface/imagery of the sculpture and the boundaries of the universe for the interior narrative.  A selection of images will be translated into glass objects to be used as inclusions and layered within the thick clear glass casting to populate the inner story.  Participants will make one main project along with a variety of inclusions, and tests.

A Review from Bob Paterson:  I took Linda's class and I can assure you this is the very best one you will ever attend. Generous with detailed information, Linda is a master.  She should call this a master casting workshop taught by a master artist.
