Product Description

Damming & Working Thick

Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 1pm to 5pm AND Sunday, September 6 from 1pm to 4pm

$95 plus supplies.  Firing and use of coldworking equipment is included.

** Glass Fusing Experience Required **

Have you ever admired the work of professional glass artists who create really thick work?  If you've been wondering how they violate the 6mm rule and make plates that are 1/2" thick and THICKER, join this class to learn about damming glass and working thick.

In week one, we'll discuss how to dam squares, rectangles and rounds.  We'll explore at least two different techniques for each shape.  You can create one or two projects, depending on time.  If you have an idea about a thick plate that you want to make, bring it with you.  If you don't, we'll offer several options to help you create something that will make you proud!

In week two, we'll examine the results and use the coldworking equipment to perfect the edges.  That's how the pros do it.  That's what you're going to learn.  After taking this class, you'll be eligible to rent Harmony's coldworking tools.

Tuition includes fusing and slumping.  Projects will be ready for pick-up in about one week.

All you need to bring is your sense of fun.  Please wear closed-toe shoes.  We'll supply safety glasses and everything else you need.

We require that you purchase any class tools and supplies here at Harmony.  By doing so, you help ensure that your local stained glass store will be here as a place for fun and learning for many years to come.
